We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Hygiene professional to join our team and support the implementation, management, and ongoing improvement of our Hygiene Management requirements across WGX operations.

About the Role

In this role, you will contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of all Occupational Hygiene programs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting a safe and healthy work environment for our workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of Occupational Hygiene requirements across site operations.
  • Ensure all statutory obligations for occupational exposures (dust, fumes, noise, diesel particulates, biological hazards, heat stress, vibration) are met through effective sampling, testing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Analyse sampling data to inform, develop, and drive evidence‑based intervention strategies.
  • Support the development and review of Occupational Hygiene documentation and plans.
  • Conduct control verification activities.
  • Provide practical, expert advice on Occupational Hygiene controls to operational sites.
  • Complete additional tasks aligned with business needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in Hygiene projects or related fields.
  • Health surveillance experience.
  • Mining sector experience within health and safety (preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactively.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Mine Air Quality Technician (MAQT) or Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO)
  • Noise Officer or Audiometric qualifications
  • C Class Driver’s Licence

Desirable

  • Degree in Science – Occupational Hygiene Practices
